Home Prices Pop Across the Board in 16th Street Heights

UrbanTurf is taking its annual look at the neighborhood housing markets around the DC region. Today, we head over to 16th Street Heights.
16th Street Heights which runs along the east side of Rock Creek Park is primarily home to large-scale detached homes and recently-renovated houses, as well as a smattering of condos. Regardless what property type you are interested in, homebuyers looking in this section of DC are likely paying more in 2019. Average prices are up across the board for most property types in the neighborhood, which has only had a slightly deletirious effect on sales, which dipped year-over-year. Below, UrbanTurf picked out some key housing statistics for the neighborhood.

- $887,500 -- The median sales price of a home in 16th Street Heights in 2019, up 19 percent compared to last year.
- $1.096 million -- Average sales price for a detached home with 4+ bedrooms in 2019, the most popular property type.
- 56 -- The number of home sales in 16th Street Heights this year, down 5 percent from 2018.
- 2.5 -- The monthly supply of homes for sale, up 82 percent compared to last July.
- 48% -- The percentage of listings that sold in 20 days or less in 16th Street Heights this year.
