Trammell Crow subsidiary High Street Residential's plans for a prominent corner in Shaw will be delayed.
The development team has filed a two-year extension for the approved planned-unit development (PUD) that is expected to deliver a 90 foot-tall building with 230 residential units above roughly 7,440 square feet of retail at 7th and P Streets NW (map). The extension would make the PUD approval valid through the end of 2026.

"Since approval, the Applicant has diligently pursued development of the Project, including working with the development team to prepare permit plans and applying for a building permit for the Project," the application stated. "However, the current market conditions affecting the commercial real estate sector necessitate an extension to allow the Applicant additional time to secure financing in order to move forward with construction of the Project."
In addition to an affordable housing component, the building will include a rooftop pool deck, a public art element on P Street, and 56 vehicular parking and 65 long-term bicycle spaces. Eric Colbert & Associates is the architect.
