Add another Trader Joe's to the growing list of stores in DC.
The new outpost of the popular grocery store is planning to open at Monroe Street Market (map) in Edgewood, per a notice filed by DC's Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration. ANC Commissioner Aru Sahni posted about the news on Wednesday morning.
The new store will be the sixth or seventh Trader Joe's location in the city. Earlier this year, news came that a store is looking to open at the Chevy Chase Pavilion in Friendship Heights. Last February, Clarion Partners, the owner of the Chevy Chase Pavilion, filed modifications to its 1986 planned unit development (PUD) in order to make a grocery store feasible for the mall.
