The priciest home on the market in DC has sold, UrbanTurf has learned.

The 12,200 square-foot former ambassadorial residence for the Swedish government at 3900 Nebraska Avenue NW (map) closed on Tuesday for $17.3 million. The home, listed with T.J. Morton and Cara Pearlman of Compass, hit the market back in November for $19.5 million. When the listing went under contract in December, Pearlman told UrbanTurf that the listing received nearly a dozen offers.

The seven-bedroom home sits on seven acres and is in need of renovations, but features a commercial grade kitchen, formal library and ballroom as well as a greenhouse and lighted tennis court on the grounds.

The home was purchased by Clemens Builders and Banks Development. The developers intend to restore the main residence but no other plans have been shared at this time. Since 1950, the residence along Nebraska Avenue has been home to twelve Swedish ambassadors.
