The Crowdsourced Bike Theft Alarm

A tiny new line of defense against bike thieves is currently in the works.
The Cricket is essentially a small silent alarm that attaches to a bicycle and alerts owners when the bicycle is touched or moved from its location. If it is moved, a push notification is sent to the owner’s smartphone, alerting them to go and check on the bike.
The one downside to The Cricket is that it has a limited range. If the bike owner goes farther than 150 feet from the bicycle, it will not work. However, that does not mean that all is lost if a Cricket-enabled bicycle is stolen by a quick-riding thief. Once the owner indicates that their bike has been stolen, the Cricket will become a beacon, notifying you once anyone with the app is at close range to the stolen ride.
An Indiegogo campaign is currently going on to raise money for The Cricket, which is scheduled to be shipped by next spring.
