Cult Streetwear Brand Kith Looks To Come To Georgetown

Add another name-brand retailer to Georgetown's ever-churning storefronts. 

Plans filed with the Old Georgetown Board show that Kith, the cult sneaker-and-streetwear label, is moving into 3040 M Street NW (map), adjacent to Barnes & Noble.

The M Street address has quite a retail history. The three-story building at the corner of M and Thomas Jefferson Streets dates to 1929, when it was built as one of Henry Ford's first DC-area dealerships. It later spent 16 years as a Barnes & Noble before Nike took it over in 2012 for its first Washington-area flagship. Barnes & Noble reclaimed the space in 2024, restoring it as a three-story bookstore. 

For the unfamiliar, Kith has built a devoted following since Ronnie Fieg opened his first store in New York in 2011, growing into one of the more prominent names in the streetwear-meets-luxury space through collaborations with brands like Nike, Adidas, and New Balance. Its stores are as much a draw as the merchandise: locations typically include Kith Treats, a cereal-and-ice-cream bar, and increasingly Ronnie's Pronto, a grab-and-go café concept the brand has rolled out in its newer flagships in London and West Hollywood. If the DC store follows that model — and the signage schedule in the permit set suggests it will — Georgetown shoppers can expect more than just sneakers and hoodies behind that new storefront door.
