A seven-bedroom home along the banks of the Potomac River is about to reenter the market at a reduced, but still lofty asking price.

1260 Crest Lane (map) will be listed for sale later this month for $18.5 million with Piper Yerks and Ben Roth of Washington Fine Properties. While the listing price still makes it one of northern Virginia's most expensive homes for sale, it is coming back on the market at a discount compared to last fall when it was originally listed for $25 million.

As reported by The Wall Street Journal in September, the loftiness of the listing price has much more to do with the land rather than the home itself. Lots like this one in McLean along the Potomac can fetch upwards of $20 million. The listing sits on four acres and has roughly 215 feet of frontage along the river.
