In Price Cutter this week, UrbanTurf learns that the Takoma Park home with the secret room that we featured about a month ago recently had a price reduction of $25,000.

A little over a month ago, we featured a three-bedroom log cabin-like home in Takoma Park with a rather unique feature: a “secret room” built into its top floor. The listing agent explained that when the seller’s daughter turned ten, it became clear that she didn’t like being so close to her parents. So a local architect came in and raised the roof and converted what had been a storage closet on the top level into a room filled with light and its own deck. Another interesting feature of the listing is that there is a corn/wood pellet burning stove that supplements the home’s traditional heating system. Neither of these features has attracted a buyer yet, and the listing price on the home was recently reduced by $25,000.
- Address: 332 Boyd Avenue, Takoma Park, MD (map)
- Original Price: $535,000
- Current Price: $510,000
- Bedrooms: Three
- Bathrooms: Two
- Square Footage: 1,248
- Listing Agent: Liz Brent, Evers and Co.
