German Architecture Firm Designs a Fortified U.S. Capitol

The siege on the U.S. Capitol last week has resulted in at least one architecture firm envisioning more fortification for the building.
German architecture firm Opposite Office has re-imagined the building as Capitol Castle, surrounded by a 9-foot thick fortified wall.

"As a reaction to the storm on the Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump, we designed a plan to convert the Capitol into a fortress to protect democracy," said Opposite Office founder Benedikt Hartl.
The wall, as designed, would be constructed of recycled bricks and would have rounded corner towers.
