The Kalorama home owned by one of the founders of Facebook has found a buyer.
Chris Hughes, who helped found Facebook, and husband Sean Eldridge put the Phelps Street home on the market in February for $8.75 million with Marin Hagen and Sylvia Bergstrom of Coldwell Banker. The home went under contract with contingencies over the weekend.
Hughes purchased the six-bedroom home back in 2021 for just under $8 million. Hagen told UrbanTurf at the time that the couple's primary home was in New York, but they wanted a home in DC as they are often in town to see friends and for work commitments.
The renovated six-bedroom home maintains a number of aspects from when it was built in the early 20th century, but also has a large chef's kitchen with high-end appliances, an owner's suite with a fireplace, a large media room, a full-sized gym, and a rear garden and terrace with a fire pit, grill and fountain.
