Central Union Mission
The occupants of the Central Union Mission at the southeast corner of 14th and R Streets NW have moved to the mission’s new location at 65 Massachusetts Avenue NW, and construction on a 51-unit condo project slated for the address is expected to start in the coming weeks, UrbanTurf has learned.
UrbanTurf reported last March that the development from Jeffrey Schonberger and architect Eric Colbert would be coming to the corner. Plans call for 1350 R Street NW, the main address for the Mission, to be updated, while the buildings at 1625 through 1629 14th Street NW will have additions built on top. The layout of each unit will vary, Colbert told UrbanTurf, from loft-y condos to two-story duplexes.
The condos are expected to deliver in late summer or early fall 2014.
