“Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination—until now,” said Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO. “As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth.”
Some of the extraordinary offerings include staying the night in a replica of the house from the movie Up or having a sleepover in the Clock room at Musee D'Orsay in Paris.
Listings in the Icons category will appear on the site with a countdown clock letting people know when they can book. Most of the experiences will be free or less the $100 a night, and offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.
