96-Unit Apartment Building Pitched in Mt. Vernon Triangle With Resident-Only Penthouse Cafe
A new apartment building is being planned in Mount Vernon Triangle with an interesting amenity.
Quadrangle Development and The Wilkes Company are proposing a 13-story, 96-unit apartment building at 950 Third Street NW (map). The development will have the usual apartment amenities, including underground parking and a fitness center, as well as a rather novel amenity: a resident-only cafe in the penthouse.

"The Applicant envisions the café space will serve as a unique amenity for the Project and could become a juice bar, coffee bar or café with various food and drink offerings during the day and evening," documents filed with DC's Board of Zoning Adjustment stated.
The lot where the new development will be constructed is being developed in three phases. The DC Bar building on the southwest portion of the site was completed in 2018 and construction of a residential building fronting on K Street will begin later this year. 950 Third Street NW is the final phase of the development.
