More residential development is moving ahead at West Hyattsville Metro station.
On Thursday, the Prince George's County Planning Board approved a detailed site plan application to deliver a five-story building with 293 apartments above retail on the narrow 8-acre parcel at Ager Road and Little Branch Run (map). The building is the first of a two-phase development that will create a retail-lined plaza.

The unit mix will be mostly one- and two-bedrooms, although there will also be six studios and four three-bedrooms. Amenities will include an outdoor kitchen and two courtyards, one with a pool. The first phase will include an above-grade, art-wrapped garage with 298 parking spaces, as well as 34 residential bicycle spaces. Gilbane is the developer.
This building would join 183 townhouses to the west of the site, for which sales have already started, and an under-construction Kaiser Permanente medical office building is currently under construction fronting Ager Road. Improvements to the Anacostia River Northwest Branch Trail have also delivered as part of the development.
