Modern One-Bedroom Near Logan Circle
This 752 square-foot unit is in The Rutherford, an eight-story building that went up in 2005 a couple blocks south of Logan Circle. The one-bedroom is modern, with floor-to-ceiling windows, an open floor plan and a kitchen equipped with a very large kitchen island. The bedroom is on the small side. All in all, the condo is pretty standard; the location is definitely the big appeal here, with the Mount Vernon Square Metro station six blocks away and Logan Circle and the 14th Street Corridor minutes to the west.

Detached Colonial in Historic Anacostia
While the neighborhood still has a ways to go, there are some interesting destinations in Historic Anacostia, like the Honfluer Gallery, The Hive, Big Chair Coffee and Uniontown Bar and Grill, and this house is just a few blocks from the center of activity. Built in 1905, this three-bedroom was recently renovated and now has restored heart pine flooring, nice moldings, exposed brick, and a remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. The fireplace in the dining room and black and white tiled floor in the new kitchen are charming. The third bedroom is on the small side and is currently being used as an office. We liked the large front porch and the screen door, which make neighborly friendliness that much easier.

- Bathrooms: Two

Farm House in Silver Spring With Screened-in Porches
This four-bedroom home has a county feel, with multiple screened-in porches, wood paneling in some rooms, and angled ceilings that necessitate occasional ducking. While the address says Silver Spring, this house is pretty far out there, well past the beltway and close to Colesville. As a result, the house sits on a large lot of just over a quarter of an acre. A detached garage on the property is currently being used as a workshop. Another cool feature is a screened-in party area in the back, complete with a hot tub and a grill.

- Price: $335,000
- Bedrooms: Four
- Bathrooms: 1.5
- Year Built: 1913
- Listing Agent: Michael Grygier, Long & Foster
