Weekend Warrior Special: The H Street Foreclosure

825 4th Street NE. Google Maps.
At first glance, this row house near the H Street Corridor looks like the type of home that smaller developers have been snapping up and turning into condos for quite some time.
However, investors are not allowed to bid on the two-unit foreclosure, which means that home buyers who have a weekend warrior streak in them get first shot.
The property is divided into an upper-level unit and a lower-level unit, and it appears that while work has started, the eventual buyer will have to do a fair amount in order to get it into livable shape. Also, HUD has determined that there are some minor plumbing and water issues as well as floor damage that potential buyers should look into before submitting an offer.
Because it is a foreclosure, offers need to be submitted by the end of the day on December 5th through the HUD Homes website, and the bank will review them the following day. As any regular reader of UrbanTurf knows, the purchase process for foreclosures can be long and frustrating, so interested buyers will likely need to be patient.
