It's that time of year again when UrbanTurf reflects on some of the DC area's most interesting real estate topics from the last 12 months. This week, we refresh your memory on some of the best, most intriguing and most peculiar things we came across throughout 2022. Enjoy.
For those who aren’t pulling in the money for a multi-million dollar house, UrbanTurf sorted through the hundreds of more reasonably-priced listings featured on the site this year to come up with our favorite. The winner: A Cleveland Park condo with a backstory worthy of a screenplay.
The former tenant of this two-bedroom condo along Macomb Street was Ana Montes, who was arrested and charged with spying for the Cuban government in 2001.

Montes is set to be released from prison next year - but won’t be returning to this two-bedroom, which has a compact and contemporary layout that UrbanTurf loves.
The kitchen and living room are separated by a half wall that includes additional storage and white wooden detailing throughout the unit helps to lighten up the space. The main bedroom features built-in wardrobes and a middle window seat, which UrbanTurf found particularly charming.
