On Friday, UrbanTurf will have a feature that takes the temperature of the spring housing market in DC. Today, we are getting a sense as to which areas in the region are moving back in favor of homebuyers.
A new report from Trulia released today looks at zip codes across the country to determine which areas are shifting in favor home sellers and which are shifting in favor of buyers. Trulia looked at metrics including the share of listings with at least one price cut, the monthly median days on market, and the sales-to-list price ratio as well as other housing-related data to determine their conclusions.

The report reveals that the DC area overall is shifting slightly in favor of homebuyers. However, it found that 45 percent of the zip codes within the region are shifting in favor of buyers.
UrbanTurf plucked out the five zip codes in the area that are at the top of the list.
Except for one zip code in the table above, the areas moving towards a buyer's market in the region are also some of the area's priciest. Leading the way are the zip codes that encompass McLean, Virginia and DC's West End. Following those two are the zip code that includes Chevy Chase, MD and the southern section of Bethesda. Rounding out the list is the DC zip code that includes neighborhoods like Petworth and Crestwood, and the zip code that encompasses portions of Burleith, Glover Park, Foxhall, Georgetown and Massachusetts Avenue Heights.
