Ovechkin’s new home
Two very different pieces of housing news emerged in recent days regarding a couple of DC athletes.
Late last week, the Washington Business Journal reported that the Washington Capitals’ Alexander Ovechkin purchased an 11,000 square-foot, five-bedroom home in McLean for $4.275 million. Fans of the hockey star may recall that Ovechkin has lived with his parents during his tenure as a Cap. Unclear if that will continue in his new abode.
On Friday, housing news of a different sort came out regarding the Florida home of Washington Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss. The South Florida Business Journal reported that Moss’ home in Lighthouse Point has been flagged for foreclosure as he has been failing to make his monthly mortgage payments. The fact that Moss is in this position is surprising given that he recently signed a new $15 million contract with the Skins, $5 million of which was paid in an upfront signing bonus.
