It was a pretty quick closing for one of the priciest condos sales in DC last year.
The penthouse duplex at the Residences at Harbourside (map) in Georgetown, listed for $8.95 million, went under contract in mid-December, and closed just before the end of the year for $8.575 million. The condo, the second most expensive on the market in DC, was listed with Michael Rankin of TTR Sotheby's International Realty, and Hugh McDermott and Jeff Wilson of TTR Sotheby's International Realty represented the buyers.

The focal point of the 6,000 square-foot four-bedroom listing is the 3,400 square-foot terrace that offers a private pool and views of the Potomac River, Kennedy Center, Washington Monument. Each floor of the condo opens on to the terrace.
The unit's private elevator enters into a large entry hall, and beyond that the living space really begins to spread out with a living room, large dining room, chef's kitchen and pantry and library. The second level includes in-unit amenities such as a sauna, spa and exercise room.
The most expensive condo sold in DC last year was a 5,500 square-foot unit at Amaris, a new luxury condominium development from Hoffman & Associates and Madison Marquette at the Wharf. The $12.762 million sale makes it the most expensive condo to ever sell in the city.
