Rendering of proposed residential project at 14th and T.
Housing Complex’s Lydia DePillis reported this afternoon that on this week’s ANC 1B Design Committee agenda are plans for a new residential project that would sit at 14th and T Streets NW and replace the post office and furniture store that are located there now. Full plans can be viewed here, but DePillis writes that the project will be developed by Level 2 Development, and looks to be seven stories with about 126 units.
The project will be designed by Eric Colbert & Associates who, if you don’t recognize the name, is the architecture firm that has all but cornered the market for new residential projects up and down the street. Having designed Level 2’s View 14 north of Florida Avenue, Colbert is also designing the new PN Hoffman project at 14th and R Streets, and the Utopia apartment project just south of U Street.
Here is a quick rundown of residential projects that are either under construction or planned for 14th Street between R Street and Euclid Street:
- District Condos, a new 125-unit JBG/Grosvenor condo development that is being built at 14th and S Streets NW.
- A six-story, 30-unit apartment project at 2221 14th Street NW from Douglas Development
- 14W, a 231-apartment mixed-use development on the corner of 14th and W Streets NW.
- Utopia, a 220-unit apartment project with 20,000 square feet of retail that will run south along 14th Street below U Street
- A 34-unit condo project from PN Hoffman at the north corner of 14th and R Street NW.
- A 31-unit condominium project at the southeast corner of 14th and R Streets developed by Habte Sequar.
