Townhomes at MetroWest.
Early this fall, Fairfax’s MetroWest, adjacent to the Vienna Metro station (map), is slated to add modern one-level condominiums to its community of already completed townhomes and townhome condominiums. The condominiums will be located in a new section of the community called The Flats at MetroWest.
The new two-bedroom/two-bath condominiums will range in size from 1,250 to 1,685 square feet—a spacious counterpoint to the average two-bedroom condo in DC. In comparison, the three-bedroom, 2.5-bath townhomes at MetroWest measure out at 1,950 square feet.
The condominiums will offer ample space for entertaining in adjoining living and dining rooms and plenty of room for culinary adventures in well-appointed kitchens. Bedrooms are set at opposite ends of the residences to maximize privacy. The Flats at MetroWest will be compromised of five four-level buildings, each with underground parking and elevators.
MetroWest is a half-hour train ride from the District and will include many of the traditional trappings of urban living, including shopping and dining within walking distance at the Pan Am Shopping Center and, eventually, within the community itself. An on-site recreation center is also underway.
The development was designed to take advantage of the increased elbow room and lower cost of living that has Washingtonians looking to the nearby suburbs. In addition to highly sought-after homes, MetroWest will soon include five community parks. It already features large swaths of green space (developer Pulte Homes dedicated 30% of the property to open space).
