Nearly $6 Million: The Most Expensive Condo Sale in Virginia Just Closed
A 4,600 square-foot condominium in Arlington just sold for nearly $6 million, setting a new record for the priciest condo ever sold in the state of Virginia.
The custom-designed penthouse on the 29th floor at The Waterview closed on Valentines Day for $5.95 million. Robert Hryniewicki, Adam Rackliffe, Christopher Leary and Micah Smith of HRL Partners at Washington Fine Properties represented the seller and Jeannine Garcia of Keller Williams represented the buyer. The condo was originally listed in July for $6.95 million.

The three-bedroom listing is the combination of two separate units at The Waterview, and has a number of calling cards of a condominium fetching this asking price. A wall of windows offers views as far as the National Cathedral and nearly every local monument is also in view. The professionally-designed home features custom millwork, hand-painted and silver leaf tray ceilings, and hand-stained wood flooring throughout. The primary bedroom has two expansive dressing rooms, and in addition to a central living room, the unit comes with its own library.
The new owner will have three assigned underground parking spaces, as well as 24/7 concierge services, use of the state-of-the-art fitness center, and room service from the adjacent Le Meridien Hotel.
The Waterview penthouse is not the only condo to break a price record in the area over the last year. In April, a 5,500 square-foot unit at Amaris, a new luxury condominium development from Hoffman & Associates and Madison Marquette at the Wharf, sold for $12.762 million. The sale makes it the most expensive condo to ever sell in DC.
