The late Madeline Albright's Georgetown home just hit the market.
The former U.S. Secretary of State's four-bedroom home along 34th Street was listed for sale with Michael Rankin and Logan MacKethan of TTR Sotheby's International Realty on Monday. The Wall Street Journal was first to report the news.
Albright, who passed away last year, bought the house with he ex-husband for around $100,000 in 1968.
From the Journal:
Albright raised her three daughters in the Federal-style house, which became a hub for foreign-policy experts and those interested in politics and national security. They convened for the monthly dinner parties she hosted, according to Jacob Freedman, a close family friend who was Albright’s chief of staff in her later years.
The 4,000 square-foot listing has a large patio and garden, as well as an oversized two-car garage that was "repurposed for diplomatic security", according to the Journal.
