The living room when Schultz and Riddle owned the home.
The Swann Street garage was purchased by Gregg Schultz and Joe Riddle in 2005 when it was a storage space for Georgetown Furniture, a furniture store that used to be located on 14th Street. The duo spent several years renovating the garage into a home, and adding what was one of the first residential green roofs for a residential property in the city.
The green roof.
Once the renovation was completed, the focal point of the home became the large living area and kitchen where cars used to sit. Behind the kitchen is the main bedroom with an attached bathroom, and when Riddle and Schultz lived there, there was also a smaller second bedroom with a Murphy bed and an attached bathroom on the main floor. Stairs in the living room go up to a home office, as well as a custom-built walnut ladder that swings down from the ceiling and leads to the roof.
The home was sold in 2012 and the current owner is now looking for a renter at $5,500 a month.
