The most expensive home to sell in DC this year closed on Thursday for nearly $12 million.
3331 N Street NW (map) sold in an off-market transaction for $11.8 million. The six-bedroom home built in the early 19th century underwent a substantial renovation in 2018 helmed by architect Robert Gurney. Will Thomas of TTR Sotheby's International Realty represented the buyer and seller in the transaction.
“Both the sellers and buyer value their privacy and have opted to remain discreet, keeping their identities off the title," Thomas told UrbanTurf.
The renovation focused on a number of things, including accommodating the owner's extensive art collection. The house also includes a double parlor with two fireplaces and 14-foot ceilings, a glass structure on the roof that floods parts of the house with natural light, and high-end finishes throughout.
The listing is the priciest home to sell within the DC borders this year, and second most expensive sale in the region -- an eight-bedroom Great Falls home sold for nearly $15 million back in February.
