At $13.5 Million, Georgetown's Priciest Home For Sale Finds A Buyer

The momentum for big ticket home sales in the DC area did not slow down as 2024 came to a close.
Just after Christmas, a five-bedroom estate at 3210 R Street NW (map) listed for $13.5 million went under contract with contingencies. The home, listed with Martha Slagle of TTR Sotheby's International Realty, is the priciest home on the market in Georgetown.
In addition to several large spaces for entertaining including a great room with a fireplace, some of the property's standout features include a huge primary suite that comes with a 29-foot walk-in closet. The home also may have one of the deepest lots in the neighborhood, affording space for a garden, a full-size salt water pool, multiple entertaining terraces, and a two-car garage.
The listing -- which was once owned by Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas -- is just the latest 8-figure home to find a buyer in the DC region over the last few months. Here is UrbanTurf's running list of other notable sales:
