Last year's housing market was a bumpy one in the DC area. With 2024 in the rearview mirror, UrbanTurf breaks down a series of numbers that provide a picture of the market last year.

  • 49,942 -- The number of homes that sold in the DC region in 2024, up 2% from 2023. 
  • $605,000 -- The median home price in the DC region in 2024, the highest price on record. 
  • 53% -- The percentage of homes that sold in 10 days or less in the DC region. 
  • $25 million -- The sales price for the most expensive home sold in 2024, the priciest listing ever sold in the region. 
  • $55,000 -- The sales price for the least expensive home sold in DC last year.
  • 100% -- The average sales price to list price ratio for homes sold in the DC area.
  • 19% -- The percentage of homes that sold for all cash last year. 
  • $655,000 - The median home price in DC proper, up 5% from 2023.
