The property that was once the chancery for Saudi Arabia has been listed for sale.
The eight-bedroom, nine-bath listing at 2941 Massachusetts Avenue NW (map) hit the market on Tuesday for $9.5 million. The home is listed with Matt Windsor and Lyndsi Armenio of Douglas Elliman.
The 14,000 square-foot property has been owned by Saudi Arabia since the 1970s. Although it was renovated in the early 1990s, Windsor said that listing is "best suited for someone looking to restore it to its historical glory." The current embassy of Saudi Arabia is now located along New Hampshire Avenue NW in Foggy Bottom.
A number of embassies and ambassadorial residences have been transformed in DC over the years (see a few below), so it will be interesting to see what the future holds for this listing.
