"Five years ago, we set the ambitious goal of hitting 36,000 homes by 2025 and today we hit that goal," Bowser said. "There are now over 65,000 residents living in their new homes across the city."
Of the 36,000 units produced, approximately 9,845 are affordable, 82% of the goal for affordable housing production (12,000 units). The mayor's office said that there are 2,500 affordable units under construction, and that the city expects to meet the affordable housing target by the end of 2025.
