DC Has A New Second Most Expensive Home For Sale
Earlier this summer, luxury real estate headlines were made when DC’s most expensive home, Evermay, sold for less than half of its original asking price of $49 million. It appears that the slashing of eight-figure price tags might be becoming a trend.
2933-2943 Benton Place NW (map) is back up for sale for $12 million, about half of what the home was asking when it hit the market for $21 million back in 2006. Still, at its reduced price, the ten-bedroom, 11-bath mansion is now the second most expensive residential property for sale within the city borders.
The property sits tucked away off Embassy Row near Rock Creek Park. Originally built in 1927, it was completely renovated in 2001. The most expensive home on the market in the city right now is Halcyon House, available for $15 million.
