DC-Area Apartment Rents Rise Slightly In July

A new report finds that apartment rents rose slightly in the DC area this month, but are down year-over-year. 

Rents in the region rose 0.2% in July, according to a new report from ApartmentList, but are down 0.6% over the past year.

"Washington, DC rents went up 0.2% in the past month, compared to the national rate of 0%" the report stated. "Among the nation's 100 largest cities, this ranks #54. Similar monthly rent growth took place in Tulsa, OK (0.2%) and Oakland, CA (0.1%)."

The median rent in the region is $2,188/month for a one-bedroom apartment and $2,246 for a two-bedroom, according to the report.
