On Tuesday, ARCH, the Department of Housing and Community Development and the Anacostia BID launched Go Anacostia, an online business portal for Anacostia. The goal of the portal is to bring attention to the growing business community in the neighborhood east of the Anacostia River.
“I don’t think people, both inside and outside Anacostia, realize how many small businesses, organizations, and entrepreneurs call Anacostia home,” ARCH President Duane Gautier said in a statement. “We are excited to create a virtual home for them and demonstrate the depth and breadth of what Anacostia has to offer.”
The offerings on Go Anacostia include restaurants, schools, and shops. Individual Airbnb listings are also advertised on the site, which is completely free for any business that would like to be included.
