Founded in 2014, Allbirds dubs itself "the most comfortable shoe in the world" and is known for its sneakers and slip-ons made out of New Zealand merino wool. Allbirds is largely a company that sells directly to consumers via its website, but it has stores in New York and San Francisco.
The Georgetown Ben and Jerry's location closed at the end of the summer, and the Washington Business Journal reported last month that another M Street mainstay, Johnny Rocket's, may not be long for the neighborhood as its retail space is being marketed for lease.
