The partying has gotten out of hand for Airbnb.

On Tuesday, the short-term rental site announced anti-party tools aimed at reducing the growing number of unauthorized parties that take place at listings rented out on the site.

"In June, we announced that our previously temporary ban on parties will become a codified policy," the Airbnb press release stated. "We are continuing our work to enforce that policy by taking measures trying to the best of our ability to take on unauthorized parties — meaning parties thrown without the knowledge or consent of Hosts."

The new technology looks to identify bookings that may result in unauthorized parties, by looking at factors including a guests’ review history, the age of their account, the length of the stay, and if they are booking on a weekday or weekend. If a guest is blocked from reserving a listing on the site because of this new technology, they may still be able to book an alternative listing on the site, for example an individual room rather than a whole house.
