$5,100 Above Asking in Brookland
This semi-detached Brookland home spending netted about $5,100 above its asking price. The three-story house is much more spacious than it appears from the street, with 2,100 square feet of interior living space. The main level has an open floorplan but retains some of its original features, with restored heart pine floors contrasting with dark trim and window and door frames. There is a living room just past the front door and a family room near the back of the home, which leads out to the rear deck overlooking a deep backyard. The lower level has a separate exit to the backyard and a full bedroom and bath.

Over in Truxton Circle, this two-story Federal rowhouse sold in seven days for $7,000 above asking price. The two-bedroom house packs plenty of charm, starting with the winding brick path that leads to the arch-topped front perch. A staircase bisects the main level, which also features an exposed brick accent wall in the living and dining area at the front of the house and the powder room and galley kitchen towards the rear. Just past the kitchen is a den with access to the fenced-in rear patio, where a winding brick path leads from the house to the detached storage shed.

The Five-Figure Premium for a Popular Street in Petworth
A block of Upshur Street in Petworth has added a series of reputable restaurants, so it comes as no surprise that that cachet has extended further into the neighborhood. Three of the bedrooms share the second level, creating a large bedroom or bonus room on the top level; the basement is also an in-law suite with two separate entrances. The fenced-in backyard has a wooden deck and access to a two-car parking pad.
