Eataly Confirms First DC-Area Location, Landing in Tysons Corner in 2027

Eataly has confirmed what permit filings hinted at for quite some time: the Italian marketplace is opening its first DC-area location at Tysons Corner Center in 2027.

The two-level space will feature both interior access from the shopping center and a dedicated exterior entrance, and will include seated restaurants, quick-service counters, and a specialty market stocked with made-in-Italy products, in keeping with Eataly's "eat, shop, and learn" philosophy. 

The wait for Eataly in the DC area has been a long one.

Back in 2014, Eataly signed a letter of intent to anchor roughly 30,000 to 35,000 square feet of retail at Capitol Crossing, the $1.3 billion deck-over-the-freeway project in downtown DC. That deal fell apart by 2016, when Capitol Crossing's developer confirmed a different tenant had taken the space and Eataly's DC ambitions stalled indefinitely. 

Eataly now operates 69 locations across 16 countries, including 20 in the US and Canada.
