Renderings have been unveiled for the 320-unit residential development coming to what was once known as the "Rodeo Drive" of Friendship Heights.
In advance of a public meeting this week, Carr Companies and The Donohoe Companies have posted new plans for the development in the works at 5500 Wisconsin Avenue (map) that will include a new 18-story, 320-unit apartment building with 15,000 square feet of retail on the ground floor.

The Courtyard by Marriott hotel at the site will be updated and maintained, and a woonerf will be added, connecting the Hills Plaza to Wisconsin Avenue. The new development, designed by SK+I Architecture, will have approximately 50 apartments that will be moderately-priced dwelling units (MPDUs).

The project will replace the 44,700 square-foot retail structure that was previously home to Brooks Brothers and Saks Jandel. Donohoe and Carr acquired the addresses in 2021. The development team will present the latest plans for the development to the public on Thursday. More renderings below.
