A police and fire station along U Street could be the future site of a major redevelopment.
At DC's March Madness housing event last week, a Request for Proposals (RFP) was announced for DC fire station 9 at 1617 U Street NW and the Third District police station at 1620 V Street NW.

The RFP, which will be released in the fall, envisions a new high-density, mixed-use development at the site that will include the existing police station and fire station.
The site, which sits just beyond the southern tip of Adams Morgan, is a few blocks east of the planned redevelopment of the Reeves Center. Two teams are vying to redevelop that site, but the choice of the winning team is moving along slowly.
