The plans to redevelop the site of a Wells Fargo branch and a Verizon building in Arlington are coming into focus.
Jefferson Apartment Group and Akridge have submitted detailed plans to Arlington County for a residential/office/retail building at 1025 N Irving Street (map). The 128 foot-tall building will have ground-floor retail, two stories of office space, and 238 apartments across the upper nine floors. There will also be 244 spaces across two floors of below-grade parking, and 144 long-term bicycle spaces. Hickok Cole Architects is the architect for the project.

The 2.45-acre site is located in the Clarendon Revitalization District and currently houses a Verizon building, which will remain, and a Wells Fargo bank branch at 3140 Washington Boulevard (map). A new bank will be constructed on the northwest corner before the old one is razed so that the bank will continue to operate throughout construction.
