Rendering of The Avery
A 67-unit apartment complex in Arlington has been purchased and is making the transition to condos, UrbanTurf has learned.
Silverwood Companies and investment partner Freedom Development have acquired the building, formerly Grayson Flats, at 1200 North Rolfe Street (map), and will re-christen it as The Avery, a condo project with sales starting next month.
The condos at The Avery will range in size from one-bedrooms up to 1,750-square foot two-bedrooms, and almost 90 percent will come with outdoor space. Prices will start in the $400,000s, and sales will be handled by The Mayhood Company.
While it is certainly not the first condo conversion in the area, the transition of the project from rental apartments to for-sale units was no doubt driven by the historically low housing inventory that the DC area is currently experiencing.
