A 50-Unit Condo Development is Planned For the Center of H Street

A large residential development is on the boards for a central stretch of the H Street Corridor.
Holladay Corporation and Monarch Urban are partnering on a 50-unit condo development at 1101-1107 H Street NE (map). There will be approximately 6,300 square feet of retail and one level of underground parking with 17 spaces and the development team will preserve the historic facade at 1107 H Street NE.
"Unlike many of the projects located to our west, we intend to build condominiums instead of apartments, which we think will be well received," a letter from the development team to ANC 6A stated.

The development team is seeking a map amendment to rezone the five properties at 1101-1107 H Street NE from the NC-16 to NC-17 designation, which would allow an increase in density of approximately 9,000 square feet and an additional floor on the proposed development.
