$45 Million Yet-To-Be-Built Alexandria House Becomes DC Area's Priciest Home for Sale
A neighbor of the priciest home to ever sell in the DC region appears to be taking inspiration from that transaction.
RiverGate on the Potomac, a yet-to-be-built home on ten acres along the banks of the Potomac River in Alexandria, has been listed for $45 million, making it the most expensive home on the market in the region. Listed with the Sherif and Ali Group at Compass, the home is designed by Harrison Design and slated to be built by Horizon Builders.

If the address for the listing -- 7983 East Boulevard Drive (map) -- looks familiar, it is because it is just adjacent to River View, the 16,000 square foot home that fetched the highest price on record for a residential sale in the DC region last October.
As currently designed, Rivergate on the Potomac will be a seven-bedroom, 12-bath home in the mold of a French-provincial style residence, such as Merrywood in Virginia. The plans include a conservatory, a standalone yoga studio, a subterranean sport court, a movie theater and staff quarters. The property traverses a large pond on the way down to a private dock and beach with views along the Potomac River.
