A home on the market in McLean just sold for the highest price on any residential listing in the DC region since the Dan Snyder era.
The nearly 22,000 square-foot, six-bedroom home closed this week for the interesting sales price of $27,508,500, a discount from the original asking price of $29,990,000 when it hit the market in July 2024. Daniel Heider of TTR Sotheby's International Realty was the home's listing agent and Tammarra Peacock of Pearson Smith Realty represented the buyer.
Dubbed Bright Mountain Estate, the palatial home sits atop a hill on over five acres of land off Georgetown Pike. A long private drive leads to the house and inside, one will find a number of features befitting a residence carrying this price tag.
For example, there is a great room with 28-foot ceilings and a lower level meant for entertaining, complete with a cinema, a glass enclosed wine cellar, and over 3,000 square feet of recreation space. The home also has a gym with a dry sauna and steam room, as well as a large outdoor pool with a waterfall and two fire pits.
The home, which sold in an all-cash transaction, is the most expensive listing to sell in the Mid-Atlantic since former Washington Commanders owner Dan Snyder purchased a Mount Vernon estate for $48 million in 2021.
"Working alongside Dr. Sonu Kakar of Ambar Homes and Reza Tafti has been a true privilege—their vision, expertise, and unwavering commitment to excellence set a new benchmark for our market," Daniel Heider told UrbanTurf. "It comes as no surprise that their work has achieved the highest sale in the Mid-Atlantic since 2021."
Update: The Wall Street Journal is now reporting that this home was purchased by the United Arab Emirates.
