"The Project will result in replacement of an under-utilized surface parking lot with an infill multi-family residential building, structured public parking and a public park that advance each of the priorities of the county Sector Plan," documents filed with the county stated.
The new building, designed by Torti Gallas, is part of a joint venture that was selected to redevelop public parking lots 44 and 25. Broad Branch Partners and Mosaic Realty Partners filed a concept plan application a couple months ago for a development that would bring 54 condominiums and six townhouse units to lot 44 just east of Woodmont Triangle.
