Another Arlington County Verizon building site is up for redevelopment.
Jefferson Apartment Group has submitted a conceptual site plan application with the county to review a proposal to construct a residential/office/retail building at 1025 N Irving Street (map). The 128 foot-tall building will have 12,734 square feet of ground-floor retail, two stories of office space totaling 67,968 square feet, and 211 apartments across the upper nine floors. There will also be 251 spaces across two floors of below-grade parking.

The 2.45-acre site is located in the Clarendon Revitalization District and currently houses a Verizon building, which will remain, and a Wells Fargo bank branch at 3140 Washington Boulevard (map). A new bank will be constructed on the northwest corner before the old one is razed so that the bank will continue to operate throughout construction.
The project may include either affordable units on-site, a contribution to the county's affordable housing fund, or a combination of both. Lessard Design is the architect.
