While UrbanTurf is no stranger to live/work housing units, an upcoming Reston development will have amenities well-suited for people who may want to work at more than just a desk.
Faraday Park, a 400-unit development that just recently started pre-leasing, will offer more novel amenities than the standard apartment building, including a maker's workshop and a photo studio.
The workshop will be about 300 square feet and will contain a communal workbench and hand tools for woodworking and such. The photo studio will be a light box-style office-sized room inside the workshop.

"We put a ton of intention into how we designed the space so that our residents could have some of the creature comforts that traditional apartments tend to lack, such as space for a workshop," Chris Oursler, development director at Rooney Properties, told UrbanTurf. Oursler said that the workshop and photo studio can be used by appointment for now.
The property will also have less-rare amenities like co-working space with private offices, chef's kitchens, a communal dining room, a bike repair area and a pet spa. Faraday Park will start delivering in March. Rooney Properties and Bozzuto are the developers and MV+A Architects is the designer.
