A One-Bedroom in an English Basement Off Observatory Circle
This 675 square foot, furnished one-bedroom in Glover Park is a block from Whole Foods and not far from Georgetown. It’s in an English basement, though windows in every room help offset the limited light. The unit has a washer and dryer, and wireless internet is included in the rent, but the landlord will not tolerate smoking.

An English Basement in Shaw
This one-bedroom in a Shaw rowhouse is a little more updated than the listing above, though at just 420 square feet it’s also a lot smaller. The unit has a washer and dryer in the closet and the kitchen opens onto the living space. The apartment’s best attribute is likely its location — walking distance to the neighborhood’s restaurants and about four blocks from Logan Circle.
