This week in What X Rents You, UrbanTurf looks in the $1,950 to $1,980 a month range and found a variety of choices for prospective renters in the DC area with this monthly budget.
Spacious for a One-Bedroom in Kalorama
This one-bedroom is in the William Penn Apartments, a mid-sized building in Kalorama that is a close walk from Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan. The 700-square foot unit feels spacious, with a bedroom big enough to fit shelves and a desk, a deep living room and a separate dining area. The rooftop deck is also a perk. The apartment is available on January 1st.

A Simple Bungalow in Silver Spring
If you like the Takoma Park and Silver Spring bungalows that we often find on the for-sale market, this is a chance to try one out. The three-bedroom home is available on January 15th, and has many of the features that make bungalows such desirable properties, like a fairly wide front porch and sizable rooms. However, this property is on the plain side, lacking in complex woodwork or a crisply renovated kitchen or bathrooms. Still, it is far and away the largest (and least expensive home) featured in this article.

- Rent: $1,949 a month
- Bedrooms: Three
- Bathrooms: Two

A One-Bedroom at Rhode Island Row
For those willing to follow the wave of development going east, a one-bedroom is available in Rhode Island Row, the new development near the Rhode Island Avenue Metro station. Since the apartment building is brand new, everything is in very good shape. The surrounding amenities are starting to emerge, and a recent article in the Washington Post suggests that there is more on the way.

- Rent: $1,950 a month
