Former Capital City Public Charter School
In this installment of UrbanTurf Reader Asks, a reader who is considering moving out of the District as her children approach school age inquires as to where the best public charter schools are in the city.
Earlier today, I read an article in The Post, which said that 40 percent of children in DC now attend public charter schools. My husband and I have long thought that we would move out of the city once our kids got to be elementary-school age, but this article made me think that charter schools might be an alternative that would persuade us to stay put. We love DC and would love to hear the thoughts of UrbanTurf readers who know of good charter schools in the city. Based on the comments, our decision may switch from moving out of the city to just moving somewhere else within the DC borders.
